EBDI traces its beginnings to ITT Philippines Inc. in the 1960's which was stablished as 100% fully owned subsidiary of International Telephone and Telegraph Corporation, a telecommunication manufacturer with worldwide presence.
In January 1, 1987, after the acquisition of the telecommunications division of ITT by Alcatel, ITT Philippines became known as Alcatel Philippines, Inc. (API) with the Business Systems Division becoming one of the 12 divisions of API.
In October 1, 2000 Alcatel-Philippines was incorporated as Alcatel e-Business Distribution Inc. (AeBDI), a separate company but still a wholly owned subsidiary of Alcatel with the primary mission of remaining as Alcatel's premier channel for its enterprise voice/data products and solutions in the country.
Finally, in December 2003, the company was acquired through a stock purchase by EBDI Ltd., a company in Scotland U.K., while still remaining the premier business partner of Alcatel-Lucent in the enterprise markets. Having been spun off from Alcatel-Lucent, the company also diversified its product offerings.
